Nearly everyone enjoys looking at tropical pictures of exotic locations. The allure of an island paradise is irresistible. Images of swaying palm trees, white sand beaches, cascading waterfalls and lush vegetation can cause most people to start dreaming of a tropical island vacation. Moorea, Tahiti is the perfect place to fulfill that dream.

A cruise ship is anchored on Moorea's beautiful Cook's Bay. The island of Moorea is not very large - just 53 square miles in size. It has rugged volcanic peaks and spires which rise almost 4,000 feet in height. The most beautiful and famous of these peaks (at 2,949 feet high) is Mt. Rotui. It is also sometimes known as the fictitious mountain "Bali Hai" made famous by novelist James A. Michener. Moorea, Tahiti has been featured in many magazine articles and also in movies. The most famous movie to showcase Moorea was "Mutiny on the Bounty".

Spectacular Cook's Bay is a perfect place to capture memorable photographs of Moorea. Mount Rotui can be seen in the far distance There are two large bays on the island of Moorea - Cook's Bay and Opunohu Bay. Both bays are great locations if you want to capture beautiful tropical pictures of Mt. Rotui or Mt. Tohiea (the tallest peak on the island). Another excellent location to photograph from is the Belvedere viewpoint. You can see both bays at once from this scenic spot.

Few cars are encountered while bicycling around the island. The lush scenery is breathtaking at every turn and bend in the road. There are
Serene and peaceful beach along the shoreline of Opunohu Bay.
Two young coconut trees begin to take root in the ground on the island of Moorea. I was fascinated by this amazing process which begins as a fallen coconut (or from one which washes ashore).
