There are a number of excellent San Diego attractions to see and enjoy during a visit to this part of Southern California. Some are natural scenic wonders such as the beauty found at Torrey Pines State Park. Others are man-made attractions including a number of amusement parks. Along with the San Diego Zoo and Sea World , there is also Legoland (in Carlsbad), the Wild Animal Park (near Escondido), Belmont Park in Mission Beach (home of the Giant Dipper roller coaster), and more. For water sports enthusiasts, there is beautiful Mission Bay.

Another view of Torrey Pines State Beach. If shopping is your passion, there is Horton Plaza - a large multi-level outdoor mall located in the heart of downtown San Diego. Another excellent place to browse and shop is Seaport Village. This marine-themed outdoor shopping complex is located along the waterfront just off Harbor Drive (right next to the Manchester Hyatt Hotel). There are also dozens of boutiques and art galleries throughout the county in places like
La Jolla
, Del Mar,
Coronado
and more. Not far from downtown, you will find Old Town San Diego which has its own unique shopping and sightseeing treasures.

This is a view inside the multi-level Horton Plaza shopping mall. After dark, the downtown area known as the "Gaslamp Quarter" comes to life with dozens of restaurants and clubs located here. Petco Park, home of the San Diego Padres baseball team, is also located in the Gaslamp Quarter. This area of the city has a number of San Diego attractions which help promote San Diego tourism in a big way.

The streets are busy at night in the Gaslamp district. Many of the building facades are very old and quite unique - just like the Hotel St. James building pictured here. The San Diego Trolley public rail system runs all over the city and can take you to any number of locations. One of these trolley stops is in Mission Valley where you will find many restaurants and more shopping malls. You will also find Qualcomm Stadium in Mission Valley (home of the NFL's San Diego Chargers). Hotel Circle is located here for easy proximity to many San Diego attractions.

to see and visit is truly a large one. It is another reason (besides the great weather) why San Diego is known as "America's Finest City".
