When booking a Hawaii helicopter tour, you have a choice of taking a short 20 to 30 minute flight, or longer aerial tours of two hours or more. On Oahu, the shorter flights will circle over Diamond Head and the city of Honolulu giving you a new perspective of the area. If you bring a camera on the flight, you can capture some unique Honolulu city skyline pictures.
Helicopter tours can offer you lots of opportunities for unique city and landscape photographs. These are some of the many Waikiki hotel towers in Honolulu. This photo was taken in 1984.
A view of downtown Honolulu as seen by helicopter in 1984. The more elaborate Hawaii helicopter tours fly around the entire island showing you many places that are inaccessible by car. Some of the photos on this page were taken from a helicopter back in 1984 and some from an airplane in 2001. As you can see in the photographs, the city of Honolulu has added many new skyscrapers over the years.
This photograph of Honolulu was taken from an airplane in 2001.
Downtown Honolulu is shown to the left and the hotel towers of Waikiki are shown at right. The strip of beach at the right side of the photo is Waikiki Beach. This was also taken from a plane in 2001. Aerial pictures of Oahu (or any other Hawaiian island) are a great addition to any Hawaii photo gallery. Although it is not inexpensive, a
Hawaii helicopter tour
(or airplane tour) can be very special and a once in a lifetime experience.

The city of Honolulu spreads out far and wide in this 2001 photograph.
Helicopters with large glass viewing windows make for excellent photo opportunities. Some even have openable windows on the side to allow cameras to photograph without the possibility of glass reflections. Side Note:
