First, it must have a desirable location (preferably with good year-round weather). Second, it should have a large number of desirable sites and attractions to visit. And third, it needs to have a certain "uniqueness" about it which is not easily found in other cities or locations. San Diego fully meets all of the above requirements.

It features a mild mediterranean type climate (the average year-round temperature is 70 degrees - one of the best reasons to let your mind begin "California Dreaming"). And it boasts a large and beautiful natural bay and harbor which is home to the U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet.

Balboa Park
- one of the largest urban parks in the United States and the home of numerous museums and art galleries (plus some beautiful gardens and landscaping). Balboa Park is also home to the world-famous
San Diego Zoo.
The architecture of the park's museums and galleries is stunningly beautiful and filled with exquisite details.
Taking an afternoon stroll through Balboa Park on a weekend day. Instead of online photo galleries, you will find the real thing located here in the Photography Museum. Another popular attraction is
Sea World San Diego
which is located on beautiful Mission Bay. And about 30 minutes north of the city you will find two more California tourist attractions: Legoland in Carlsbad, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park near Escondido.

Of course, many people come to San Diego to spend some time on one of its many beautiful beaches. Thats what the phrase "California Dreaming" means for lots of folks. There are 70 miles of beaches in San Diego County including those on
Coronado Island.
Coronado can be reached via the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge which links the "island" (actually a peninsula) with downtown San Diego. The spectacular and historic Hotel Del Coronado is located here. And any online photo galleries worth their salt must include a picture of this world famous landmark. Another excellent resort property which is located along the downtown waterfront is the
Manchester Hyatt Hotel.
