First, it must have a desirable location (preferably with good year-round weather). Second, it should have a large number of desirable sites and attractions to visit. And third, it needs to have a certain "uniqueness" about it which is not easily found in other cities or locations. San Diego fully meets all of the above requirements.

The city of San Diego is located in the lower west corner of California, right above the Mexican border. It features a mild mediterranean type climate (the average year-round temperature is 70 degrees - one of the best reasons to let your mind begin "California Dreaming"). And it boasts a large and beautiful natural bay and harbor which is home to the U.S. Navy's Pacific Fleet.

When you start "California Dreaming", you think about the many different sights and attractions found in the State. In San Diego, these include Balboa Park - one of the largest urban parks in the United States and the home of numerous museums and art galleries (plus some beautiful gardens and landscaping). Balboa Park is also home to the world-famous San Diego Zoo. The architecture of the park's museums and galleries is stunningly beautiful and filled with exquisite details.

Another popular attraction is Sea World San Diego which is located on beautiful Mission Bay. And about 30 minutes north of the city you will find two more California tourist attractions: Legoland in Carlsbad, and the San Diego Wild Animal Park near Escondido. Each spring, you can also view the beautiful Carlsbad flower fields which cover the hillside near Legoland.

Of course, many people come to San Diego to spend some time on one of its many beautiful beaches. Thats what the phrase "California Dreaming" means for lots of folks. There are 70 miles of beaches in San Diego County including those on Coronado Island. Coronado can be reached via the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge which links the "island" (actually a peninsula) with downtown San Diego. The spectacular and historic Hotel Del Coronado is located here. And any online photo galleries worth their salt must include a picture of this world famous landmark. Another excellent resort property which is located along the downtown waterfront is the Manchester Hyatt Hotel.
